Company

Family Owned and Veteran Supported: Our Story

June 8, 2026

By Brandon, Owner — American Home Pros of Arizona

There's a version of this story I could tell that would sound better as a marketing line than it would as the truth. Scrappy underdog. Built from nothing. Classic American hustle. All of that is technically in there, but it misses what actually matters about how this company came to exist and why we run it the way we do.

So here's the real version.

Where It Started

American Home Pros of Arizona launched in 2021 — though not under this name. We started as Reliable Climate, a small AC and HVAC company working out of the southeast Valley. The idea was simple and probably not unique to us: there was a real gap in the market between the big private-equity-backed HVAC companies that were buying up every local shop in the Valley and treating customers as transaction volume, and the fly-by-night operations that didn't stand behind their work. We wanted to be neither of those things.

We started in air conditioning because that's what you start with in Arizona — the desert makes the decision for you. But the long-term vision was always a full home services company: HVAC, plumbing, and electrical under one roof, with one number to call and one company to hold accountable when something goes wrong.

By 2026 we'd earned our plumbing and electrical licenses, and with three full trades under one roof it was time for a name that matched what we'd become. Reliable Climate became American Home Pros of Arizona. It took work to get there. One truck became two. Two became a crew. Our home base in the southeast Valley was joined by a second office up north near Anthem, which let us cover the full Valley instead of just one corner of it.

Today we run HVAC, plumbing, and electrical across 15 cities in the Phoenix metro. We've got more reviews than we had trucks when we started, and our rating has stayed at 4.9 stars because the standard hasn't drifted.

The Family Part

We are a family business in the literal sense — not as a marketing line, but as a description of who actually owns and runs this company.

Our father completed multiple tours of duty in Vietnam, flying both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters alongside his two brothers. He came home, built a life, raised a family, and passed on the values that define how we approach work: show up when you say you will, do the job right the first time, don't cut corners when no one is watching, and stand behind what you do. Those aren't HVAC values — they're the values of someone who learned under conditions where cutting corners had real consequences.

We didn't serve in the military ourselves. We want to be clear about that — we are not a veteran-owned business, and we won't claim a distinction that belongs to the people who earned it. What we are is a family that grew up watching what a life of service looks like, and trying to honor that in the way we run this company.

That's what "Veteran Supported" means to us: a genuine respect for the people who served, not a marketing badge. We offer repair discounts to all veterans and active military. We partner with veteran charities. We take that commitment seriously because the people it represents took their commitment seriously.

Why We Do Things Differently

The Phoenix Valley home services market has changed significantly in the last decade. Private equity firms have been buying up local HVAC companies at a rapid pace — rebranding them, keeping the familiar name while changing the business model underneath. Commission-based technician compensation is the norm at most of the companies you'll recognize. That means the person diagnosing your AC problem earns more if they sell you a system than if they fix the one you have.

We made a deliberate choice to go the other way. Our technicians are hourly employees. They earn the same whether they repair your system or recommend a replacement. Their incentive is to diagnose correctly — because their reputation, and ours, depends on it.

It changes the dynamic of the call in a way that customers notice. We hear it in reviews: "they actually told me I didn't need a new system." "He fixed it for $200 and didn't try to upsell me anything." That's not an accident. It's the direct result of a compensation structure that doesn't reward upselling.

We also don't do the commission-driven business model on the service side — we charge flat-rate, upfront pricing. You know what the job costs before we start. There's no "I'll take a look and then give you a number" that turns into a different number once the wall is open.

The Name — and Why It Matters to Say It Clearly

There is another company in Arizona called America's Home Pros — a painting, stucco, and exterior services company that has been around for over 20 years. We are not them, and they are not us. We are American Home Pros of Arizona — HVAC, plumbing, and electrical — based in Queen Creek.

We mention this because we know it causes confusion. If you've searched for us and found a painting company, that's the overlap. If you've left a review thinking you were reviewing us and you're reading this — please check. The two businesses are completely separate, have no connection to each other, and provide entirely different services.

The short version that helps in a search: American Home Pros of Arizona = HVAC, plumbing, electrical, Queen Creek and north Phoenix. That's us.

What We're Building

We're not trying to be the biggest home services company in the Valley. There are already companies competing for that title, and most of them got there by compromising on the things we care about.

We're trying to be the best answer for a homeowner in the East Valley or North Valley who wants a family-owned company with licensed tradespeople, transparent pricing, and someone who actually answers the phone. That's a specific thing to be, and we're working every day to be it more consistently.

The reviews tell us we're getting there. So do the customers who call us back for the second and third job — the AC customer who calls us for a drain line, who calls us again for an EV charger install. That's the company we're building: one where the relationship with the homeowner is the product, not the transaction.

If you've trusted us with your home, thank you. If you're reading this trying to decide whether to, we hope this gives you a clearer picture of who we actually are. For the short, formal overview, see our About page.
